Guidelines: selling/buying personal items

Easily record any sales transaction, showing the item for sale and its condition. Leave no room for dispute once the sale is completed.

Step 1: Identify the parties

As a registered user, open the Lexigogo app and push the + button to create a new video contract. Identify both yourself and the other party when starting the video recording, stating your full names and details as well as your roles in the agreement (buyer, seller, client, etc.).

Step 2: Describe the sale item

Describe the object and its condition (how old or new, under construction etc.), zooming in on any features or damages. Ensure there is enough light on the object for visibility in the video.

For a car sale, for example, zoom in on the mileage, identification (chassis) number and  corresponding paperwork. We recommend turning the car on while video-recording to show that all technology is working (navigation, Bluetooth, lights, motor, indicators, airco, etc.). Remember you can pause the video at any time as each piece of the recording will be stitched together at the end.

Step 3: Payment, conditions and terms

Agree on a price, currency (i.e., USD, EUR) and payment terms (invoice, cash, date, etc.). Make sure to clarify when, where, by whom and how the sale item will be delivered and whether this is included in the price.

Step 4: Mutual consent and “signature”

Once your draft video contract is ready, send it to the other party for approval. After approved, the video contract will be sent back to you for “counter-signature.” It becomes effective for both parties upon signature.

Note: The app will automatically log your geolocation, date and time so no need to state in your video.
