Guidelines: checking in and out

Prove that the room you rented was in good condition before and after use.

Step 1: Identify the parties

As a registered user, open the Lexigogo app and push the + button to create a new video contract. Identify both yourself and the other party when starting the video recording, stating your full names and details as well as your roles in the agreement (lessee, lessor, landlord, tenant, etc.).

Step 2: Specify the space

Describe the room, its condition (clean, tidy, any damages, etc.), furnishings and number of people it can accommodate. You might want to test utilities such as water and light on video and check the fridge, washing machine, etc. to confirm they work. You might want to do this for utility meters as well (gas, electricity, etc.) for longer term stays.

Step 3: Payment, conditions and terms

Indicate the check in/out dates and any special instructions. Agree on a price, payment terms (invoice, cash, date, etc.), if there is a warranty deposit and how/where keys will be picked up and returned.

Step 4: Mutual consent and “signature”

Once your draft video contract is ready, send it to the other party for approval. After approved, the video contract will be sent back to you for “counter-signature.” It becomes effective for both parties upon signature.

TIP: Repeat this video contract process upon check-out to prove no damage was done to the room or to document any damage.

Note: The app will automatically log your geolocation, date and time so no need to state in your video.
